The Christian Education program at First Presbyterian Church provides the congregation with opportunities to develop and nurture a closer personal relationship with Christ through a variety of means, including Bible study, discussion, sharing, fellowship and prayer. We offer Sunday School classes and other educational opportunities in order to provide care, nurture, and support for members of all ages.

The cost of the meal is met through donations (we suggest a $4.00 minimum per person) and the programs vary throughout the year. Nursery care is provided for those children younger than kindergarten. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God . . ." - II Timothy 3:16. But what did it mean 2000 to 4000 years ago? What were the circumstances under which that particular scripture was given? Questions?? Let’s discuss them. In the Dean Bailey Covenant Class questions and discussions are encouraged, a format Rev. Dean Bailey used when he began the class. Come visit us in Room #103, directly across from the Nursery.
The Disciples Class is a study of the Bible for adults of all ages. This class wants to understand the Bible and get answers. Example: Who are the 12 disciples? This class is currently studying the New Testament. We are high energy and are looking to grow. This class meets in Room 210.
The Westminster Class has been in existence since at least 1956. We have a great time and attendees are quite a mix. We open with a familiar hymn (no auditions required) and a devotion by a volunteer (anything they desire!). Our study is from “The Quarterly” and we rotate teachers and have open and lively discussions! Come and see us in the Small Fellowship Hall. Coffee provided in the small kitchen!
The mission of the Spiritual Journeys Class is to grow in our relationship with God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and in our relationship with others, to enable us to carry out God’s purpose for our lives on earth and for eternity. This class is for anyone on their spiritual journey; just starting or an experienced “traveler”. This class meets in the A/B Room (near the church office).
The Agape Class is moving through the Bible using the “Journey Through the Bible” curriculum. This study allows us to get an overview of all the books on the Bible. We meet in the Church Library (Room #114). We are a warm and friendly group which occasionally gathers for fellowship outside of class. Visitors are welcome anytime!
The Guided Life Class usually works with contemporary studies that might take some preparation. However, members feel comfortable coming to class even is they did not have a chance to do the week’s reading. The class deals with issues such as how to live as a Christian in today’s society. A strong emphasis is placed on our prayer time together.
The Marriage + Hope + Faith Class is a biblically grounded small group that will support you in your marriage. Our hope is to look at marriage realistically, care for each other, and seek God’s purpose for our marriages. We currently meet in Room C” (across from the A/B room). Come join us any Sunday!
